<p dir="ltr">The role of the Director of Library Services is to provide leadership and oversight as the lead facilitator of individual and collective knowledge-gathering and access through the architecture of a college library system. The Director interacts extensively with students, faculty, staff as well as with members of the public and peers in Michigan Community Colleges and with local, regional and state-wide professional networks and consortia. The Director is a twenty-first century librarian, who understands that technology is constantly changing the way we view and use libraries. The Library Director is charged with challenging the staff to evaluate, analyze, organize, package and present information from a variety of formats and locations, understanding the role of information in society; and using a variety of tools and approaches to increase access to knowledge. The Director provides leadership for the library with all College departments and promotes strategic planning in order to achieve the shared goal of student success. The Director develops relationships with other libraries, locally and at the state level, to foster collaborations and partnerships which further the strategic initiatives of Academic Affairs and the College.</p>

<p dir="ltr">Supervisory Responsibility:</p>
<p dir="ltr">The Director of Library Services directly supervises all library employees, both full and part-time (9.5 FTE).</p>
<h2 dir="ltr">Job Requirements</h2>
<ul>

<p dir="ltr">Master of Library Science (MLS), Master of Librarianship, Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) or Masters of Arts or Science degrees with an emphasis in Library Systems or equivalent degree from an ALA accredited institution.</p>
</li>

<p dir="ltr">Five years of experience in library management in an automated library system environment.</p>

The Assistant Vice President reports directly to the Executive Vice President of the College and serves as the primary professional responsible for new student undergraduate enrollment results. The Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for meeting the enrollment goals set by the President and the Board of Trustees and is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies and tactics which achieve enrollment goals in support of the College’s Strategic Plan.</p>

<p dir="ltr">The Assistant Vice President should have at least seven years of experience in higher education within an enrollment management and an admissions environment; a master’s degree; demonstrated successful experience in developing, initiating, evaluating, and improving recruitment, enrollment, communication, and marketing plans and strategies from a data-driven perspective including the use of social media and information technology; and ability to lead a performance-driven admissions team. Experience in financial aid to implement and evaluate enrollment through leveraging initiatives is important. The Assistant Vice President must have the ability to analyze regional, national, and global market trends as well as current and anticipated demands for particular programs. The Assistant Vice President will assist with market research to determine institutional reputation, position the College effectively, and match student demand to curricular offerings that are consistent with the institutional mission. Knowledge of best practices in the efficient use of resources is expected. Collaboration with various offices within the College will be very important for achieving new student enrollment goals.</p>

<p dir="ltr">The Director provides strategic leadership for the Career Services Center (CSC) in the College of Business Administration, marketing the College and its students to potential employers. The Director is responsible for the daily operations of the Center, for fiscal planning, staff development, design and implementation of comprehensive programs, and for expanding the scope of employment relationships between the College and both the public and private sector.</p>
<p dir="ltr">1.Manage and be accountable for the College of Business Administration Career Services Center, for Career Services staff members and for services offered to students, graduates, and alumni.</p>
<p dir="ltr">2.Develop and maintain an annual marketing plan to promote CSC to business students, alumni and external group of employers.</p>
<p dir="ltr">3.Establish and maintain relationships with key business leaders, hiring managers and recruiters.</p>
<p dir="ltr">4.Partner with Faculty to create experiential learning project for students who are working full-time and are unable to do internship.</p>
<p dir="ltr">5.Conduct Career Services orientation for all incoming MBA students and determine job track. Create and implement requirements for utilizing CSC.</p>
<p dir="ltr">6.Design webinar based learning modules by track &amp; archive for analysis.</p>
<p dir="ltr">7.Pair students with similar job tracks in peer-lead job search groups under the direction of CSC.</p>
<p dir="ltr">8.Cultivate positive professional relationships with industry professionals in order to hire &#8220;contract&#8221; experts to provide specialized student coaching as needed.</p>
<p dir="ltr">9.Implement a strategic, corporate networking series that leverages alumni and student resources.</p>
<p dir="ltr">10.Create network of career experts by stage in job search process (Career Exploration, Career Shifters, Career Advancers, Unexpected Transition).</p>
<p dir="ltr">11.Create process for students to gain access to job postings.</p>
<p dir="ltr">12.Manage the CSC annual budget.</p>
<p dir="ltr">13.Prepare annual job placement report, in compliance with MBA CSC data collection as needed.</p>
<p dir="ltr">14.Implement and utilize social media and technology to streamline processes and engage students, alumni and employers to partner with CSC.</p>
<p dir="ltr">15.Develop quality standards to oversee and review the success of the College of Business, CSC.</p>
<p dir="ltr">16.Represent LMU within the community and at professional organizations or associations, serve on committees as required.</p>

<p>Experience:</p>
<p dir="ltr">•Minimum 5 years in recruiting, interviewing, marketing, and corporate relations with experience exhibiting progressively responsible positions.</p>
<p dir="ltr">•Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of career development and placement (including internships), marketing, and communications</p>
<p dir="ltr">•Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) with an ability to develop and deliver (i.e. teach) curriculum in communications and career management and an affinity for public speaking.</p>
<p dir="ltr">•Proven ability to work effectively and independently with internal and external constituencies and with technical professionals to accomplish group tasks and projects.</p>
<p dir="ltr">•Highly developed organizational and leadership skills and experience managing multiple conflicting projects and dealing with challenging personalities.</p>
